All good, GM Electric Chargers catch everyone’s eye
This love story is set in Germany in 2017. At the time our needs were changing, cracks had started to form in the relationship with our current battery charger partner, and our eye began to wander… Open to a new relationship we booked a flight and attended the CeMAT Exhibition in Hannover Germany.
It was there that a gorgeous, intelligent Italian model caught our eye….
Speed dating
After comparing all of the models on offer at the exhibition we found what we were looking for: a budget friendly, highly refined product with an easy to use interface. But it was the ‘flexibility’ that really stole our heart with every GM Electric charger having the ability to quickly change the amount of Amps being output and some being able to change the output Voltage too.
- The ST Series are our smallest entry level chargers and are solid reliable performers
- The HF Series introduce a display panel and ramp up the airflow and ruggedness for heavy duty use.
- Both the ST Series and HF Series are Single Phase Chargers.
- The SVC Series, which replaces the much loved H10 Series, is highly flexible and allows the user to set both the output Amps and Voltage.
- The HQC Series is the nerdy type and takes it a step further and can automatically detect the Amp Hour size and Voltage of the battery that it is connected to and uses proprietary algorithms to adapt the charging current as required without the user having to manually change any settings at all. This means a single HQC charger can charge a mixture of different battery sizes and voltages without the user having to press any buttons or change any settings at all. One single HQC charger can replace every charger in the workshop!
- Both the SVC Series and HQC Series are Three Phase chargers and have a more sophisticated LCD Display than the H10 series they replace. They also introduce Lithium Battery Charging capability via CAN-BUS communication (Note: Your Lithium Batteries OEM are required to provide their CAN-BUS Protocol so that we can load the protocol into your new Charger to enable them to communicate).
Meeting the family
We were introduced to GM Electric’s Technical Director and not only was he friendly and engaging, he was prepared to listen and incorporate our feedback and requests. Over the next few years we collaborated together to:
- Introduce Fast Charging Profiles to their Chargers
- Manufacture Non-Standard Chargers to fulfil the unique requirements of our Australian customers

GM Electric’s passion and determination to carefully satisfy their customers needs ensures that they remain leaders in the High Frequency Battery Charger International Market:
- GM Electric continually develop their technology to maintain their position as market leaders in power efficiency achieving an unrivalled ~95% efficiency. With rising power costs installing energy efficient battery chargers is a smart business decision ensuring an exceptional return on investment.
- GM Electric understand their customers needs for reliability. They have built an exceptional reputation for reliability in the Australian material handling sector and are trusted by major companies like Aldi, Bunnings, Lion Batteries, Sweepers Australia, Uncle Tobys and Qantas. Every charger in their range comes with technical support and a factory two year warranty.
- GM Electric battery chargers are the most flexible and adaptable on the market. An easy to use interface allows the user to set Voltage, Amperage, Cell type (Lead Acid / Gel / AGM) and Charging Profiles from the display panel without dongles, cables or additional software.
- Their latest product, the HQC, contains proprietary algorithms making it possible to charge batteries with the minimum charging current possible, thus reducing the heating up of the battery and saving power and money. The HQC range of battery chargers adapt automatically to the conditions and charge status of the batteries, providing an optimal charge whilst preventing wasted energy and is especially beneficial for batteries that have seen some years of service.
Buyers Guide

Choosing a Battery Charger for your Electric Forklift can be a confusing task… but our handy chart makes it easy. Simply compare your Battery Size (Ah) at the top of the chart with your Battery Voltage (24V, 36V, 48V or 80V) on the side of the chart to determine your Battery Charger model. Light green indicates that the charger is ‘suitable’ and dark green indicates that the battery charger is ‘ideal’ for your particular electric forklift.
